Dallas Center-Grimes basketball teams are coming off a successful doubleheader on the road against Pella and not will be looking to duplicate achievement tonight.
The Mustangs will have a girl/boy doubleheader taking on Ankeny from the Metro League tonight. It will start with the girls tipping off at 6:15pm in Ankeny High School. The Lady Mustangs are coming off a fantastic performance against Pella with a victory 49 to 34 and led start to finish. Emma Miner played an efficient game knock down 9/14 shots from the field and 2/3 from three point range and she ended with 22 points. DCG will need to stop Ankeny’s sophomore point guard Savannah Gage, averaging near 17 points per game. Mustangs are (11-2) and the Hawks are (7-7). DCG Head Coach Adam Jones talks more about the matchup tonight.
“You look at their record and that doesn’t doesn’t mean anything on what type of team they are because they play in such a tough tough conference. Their very athletic and their guards are very good and they can drive the ball and they can shoot the ball. They will present a lot of problems for us.”
The boys team will also take on Ankeny coming off a win over Pella, 65 to 47, on the road. DCG was thankful to get their senior leader Hudson Ehlert back on the court after missing one game due to injury. Ehlert scored 19 points on 3 three pointers made to give the Mustangs the boost they needed to get by Pella. Ankeny sits with a (4-9) record but still has a lot to prove with some quality wins. Game time set for 7:45pm.
The game will be broadcasted live on KDLS-2.
