The AC/GC Chargers made a short drive to Anita Monday night, and took on the CAM Cougars in non-conference action. The girls team started things off a little slow, with both teams only scoring 8 points in the first quarter, but the Chargers outscored the Cougars 11-8 in the second to go into halftime up 19-16. CAM was the team to come back hot in the second half though, scoring 25 points between the last two quarters. The Chargers didn’t back down though, scoring 18 of their own, but ultimately falling 37-41.
The boys team had a similar start, ending the first quarter up 10-8, but picked things up in the second, outscoring the Cougars 18-10 to go into the break up 28-18. The Chargers continued the heavy scoring, putting up 17 in the third and keeping the Cougars to 10 yet again, going into the fourth up 45-28. The final quarter saw both teams score double digits, as both teams scored 18, and AC/GC came out on top with a 63-46 victory. It was a game with a low foul count for the Chargers, with only 5 total fouls throughout the game, and only two players collecting those fouls.
