The Perry School Board at their latest meeting discussed the 2023-24 five year facilities plan and what improvements can be made.
Superintendent Clark Wicks says that they would like to carry the momentum from the projects they have completed this year into this new plan. Wicks expresses how proud he is of the black fence that was built around Dewey Field and the renovation of the Perry Middle School along with the upgrades to the building trades area and their wrestling room. Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio what additions they will look at for the next five year facilities plan.
“The high school: updating some of the high school bathrooms. Carpeting is always going to be big, big to do now. And we look at next year, we want to get the elementary gym floor redone and we want to get that gym painted. And as we’ve mentioned before in other sessions in the spring break, we’re going to start the remodeling of the kitchen area at Perry Elementary. So those are just three or four big things right there.”
Wicks says the district realizes that having quality facilities leads to students having Perry pride and achieving academically.
