A Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in a rollover crash Thursday morning.
Deputy Kent Gries was dispatched on a domestic call, and ended up in a high speed chase with a suspected individual, going through Bayard, on Highway 141. Deputy Gries states to his peers he tried a pit maneuver to stop the other vehicle, and that caused both vehicles to roll. During the rollover, Deputy Gries was fastened safely into the driver’s seat, and the vehicle came to a stop on the passenger side.
Deputy Gries was initially uninjured, but Sheriff Marty Arganbright transported him to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons. The driver of the fleeing vehicle was also transported to a hospital with suspected injuries. The incident remains under investigation at this time. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information as it becomes available.
