The deer seasons are coming to a close this week in Iowa.

The Muzzeloader and Archery Late Split seasons will be ending tomorrow. Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer for Dallas County Dustin Eighmy says that there were around 25,000 hunters that participated with a little over 1,300 deer harvested in Dallas County and 100,500 statewide. Eighmy tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the DNR was encouraged with the deers harvested this season.

“So we’re right there at that mark that we like to see as a department state wide for deer being harvested in Iowa. So it’s been a good year, with some decent weather.”

Eighmy reminds hunters that there is still one more day to fill their tags.
