The Dallas County Compensation Board met on Wednesday.

The Compensation Board is an advisory board to the Supervisors that makes annual recommendations for salary increases for each of the elected county officials. A big discussion was keeping the Sheriff’s salary similar to the police chief’s that serve comparable populations. The Board unanimously approved to increase Sheriff Adam Infante’s salary by 10-percent. Then the Board approved to increase all other elected officials’ wages by 7.5 percent to be compatible with the inflation rate.

The recommendation now goes to the Dallas County Board of Supervisors.

The representatives on the Compensation Board include Ernie Rudolph and Thomas Book for the Supervisors, John Strathman for county auditor, Kara McClure for county attorney, Mark Powell represented the county sheriff, the county treasurer’s representative is Keith Troester and Jamie Bergkamp for the county recorder.
