There are quite a few things happening in January at the Jefferson Public Library.
In the Children’s Department is a weekly craft with a winter-theme. Each craft changes at the beginning of the week and take-home crafts are available upon request. The upcoming crafts include a Felt Bird Bookmark, Magnetic Ice Fishing and Craft Game, and Rabbit Paper Lanterns.
Additionally, there is also a trivia game this month for youth in grades 7th-12th. The Not the Same “As It Was” challenges teens to use their minds, without the aid of technology, to read the words of 18th and 19th Century poets and guess who wrote them. Participants can turn in their sheets each week and winners will be announced at the end of the month.
Finally, the Adult Winter Reading Program begins January 9th and ends March 11th. This year’s theme is Found Within the Pages: “Symbols and Stories.” During the program, adults can participate in a variety of activities and read books that fit the theme. Contact the library for more information or to register.
