Newly elected Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird started by getting several things done on her first day in office, but still has some plans going forward.

Bird tells Raccoon Valley Radio that her office is looking to hire two more prosecutors, and explains why they are doing so.

“It is so important that we have those all-star prosecutors, so that Iowans know we will always be bringing criminals to justice. We’re going to work hard. I’m proud of that team. We need to make sure that we have enough to cover all the cases and trials that need to be covered. It is so important, and so we are looking for the best and the brightest to join our team.”

Bird mentions that the importance of having great attorneys within the office, is to help make sure that they can handle tough cases like murders, child molestations and other criminal cases that need that kind of expertise.
