Greene County seniors Kale Petersen and McKinley Robbins sit atop the Jan. 3 IAwrestle rankings in Class 2A. Petersen is ranked first at 132 lbs. and Robbins is atop the 138 lbs. rankings. Both have committed to wrestle in college at Division I programs- Petersen at Iowa and Robbins at Oregon State. Petersen is a two-time Iowa high school State Champion and three-time place winner, while Robbins has one title and a pair of runner-up finishes in his three previous years as a prep. Coach Zach Beekman’s Rams are number 7 in 2A, according to IAwrestle.

The first competition of 2023 for the Rams is tonight at a meet that originally wasn’t on the schedule. Greene County makes the trip northeast to Ft. Dodge St. Edmond to face the host Gaels, Ames High, and Iowa Falls-Alden. Action starts at 6 o’clock. The Rams go to the Rollin Dyer Invitational on Saturday in Atlantic.
