The Stuart Chamber met in regular monthly session Wednesday.

The Chamber discussed some changes made to membership forms, asking members to get registration submitted by the beginning of February. Additionally, a meeting cadence survey will be sent out with the minutes from the meeting. The Chamber also discussed why the annual dinner had been slated for March 8th. Financials were discussed in the treasurer’s report, but budgeting was tabled until the February meeting

Chamber Director Brenda Dudley and Chamber Member Nate Westre talked about the Hummingbirds that had visited Stuart. There were 21 Hummingbirds that came to town, and Westre mentioned that at minimum, there had been 36 posts that reached a combined 32,000 followers of the Hummingbirds. Doe-A-Deer Owner Reagan Doely said that it was exciting to see the posts, and see her store from a perspective different than her own or frequent customers. The Cup on 2nd Owner and Chamber Vice President Dustin Capps mentioned that it was great to have the increased foot traffic, and see the posts about his business.

A possible Grinch video was discussed for this year to be released around Christmas, and to possibly start planning that in October. Committee structure was also discussed. Chamber officers want to try and limit Chamber members to one committee, so that people don’t feel burned out or too stressed, and to encourage other members to help on committees as well.

Chamber Zoom and Canva accounts were approved, as the Chamber meets often enough that members felt paying for a Zoom account would be worth it, and the help in designing social media posts with Canva seemed a wise investment.
