The Perry boys basketball team knew this was going to be the most difficult week of the season coming out of the holiday break with two ranked opponents in Nevada and Grandview Christian. The Cubs connected on 16-29 from three-point land in defeating Perry 81-43 in Heart of Iowa action.
Perry led 16-13 at the end of the first quarter only to see Nevada rip off a 28-9 second quarter run. The trio of Jacob Khounsourath, Kyle Kingsbury and Easton Gray connected for 6 three-pointers during the decisive second quarter run. Khounsourath led the Cubs with 25 points. Iowa State football commit, Carson Rhodes, used his 6-7 frame to grab double digit rebounds and block four shots.
Owen Myers led Perry with 15 points while Drake Levan added 12.
Nevada improves to 8-1 on the season while Perry falls to 3-6. The Bluejays host top ranked Grandview Christian Friday night in the Sports Pavilion.
