The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
District 2 Supervisor Brian Johnson was voted in as Chair, and District 1 Supervisor JD Kuster was voted to be Vice Chair. The Board then tabled appointments for commissions until their next meeting Thursday, voting in block fashion, in a split vote. Mike Dickson and Kuster voted nay, as they would like to vote on individual items, and not do the block vote.
The Board did approve the Compensation Commission after pulling three names for various reasons. They also approved the resolutions allowing the Guthrie County Auditor to make fixed payments without prior Board approval, giving the Guthrie County Engineer Right of Final Acceptance and the Master Matrix for large animal confinement operations.
The Board then discussed the Guthrie County Employee Handbook, and Dickson had a question about some of the wording in one section. After discussing it for a while, Steve Smith motioned to approve the handbook. He and Johnson voted aye, while Kuster, Dickson and Maggie Armstrong voted nay, and the motion failed. A motion to table a decision until later in the month was approved.
