The City of Perry is excited for the future as they look at projects to be completed in 2023.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says they plan on completing the Perry Airport runway reconstruction project that started in 2010. Peterson explains last year they were able to get the dirt work completed but there is just one more step in the process.
“First thing in 2023 they’ll be moving dirt for that extension and then putting down a whole bunch of concrete so we’re very excited about that.”
Peterson says other projects they hope to wrap up this year is the reconstruction of the wastewater treatment plant. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio they have run into some snags in getting that project completed.
“Of course, like everything else, we’re running into some supply chain issues. So there may be some of that electronics and other equipment that we’re waiting on to just have everything else done and just waiting to plug in some widgets somewhere in that process. So hopefully getting that wrapped up in 2023.”
Peterson is also encouraged with the improvements of Bateman Street that was recently paved from First to Third Street but adds there will be more stages to the project completed this spring.
