The winter season just officially started, and there will be more winter weather to come.
Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern is happy with how things have gone so far this winter season, although the winds and blowing snow from the last storm made a lot of work for the Guthrie County Secondary Roads crews. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio how they prepare for any inclement weather.
“We’re not going to make any judgment call too early. We’re going to wait and see what happens, see what develops, and address the situation as need be.”
Sebern adds that the reason they prepare for each storm individually, is because especially with winter storms, each storm is unique and presents its own challenges. He says to help prepare, the Secondary Roads Department keeps track of the weather and gets the things they think they’ll need ready to go.
