There are quite a few services available to Guthrie County veterans.

Guthrie County Veterans Affairs Coordinator Beth Watson tells Raccoon Valley Radio she tries to do whatever she can to help the veterans that come to her for assistance. She provides a program for individuals that have issues with their hearing, where they can use a phone that will show the words of the person that’s talking to them. Besides providing this service in her office, Watson adds that veterans can also purchase a phone for their homes.

Watson also helps with processing files at the county, state and federal levels, and arranges assistance with information for claims, transportation and appointments for veterans. She mentions that she partners with Elderbridge Agency on Aging in Carroll for work on medical documents.
