Guthrie County residents need to get their off-road vehicles and snowmobiles registered.

Guthrie County Recorder Tristen Richard says the deadline for registration was the end of December. Since the deadline has passed, any 2022 registration has expired, and residents will need to re-register if they didn’t get that done. Richard tells Raccoon Valley Radio what people should bring with them to get registered.

“They either have to have a signed title if it’s a used one that they’re purchasing, or a manufacturer statement of origin, which usually you get that through the dealership, they should do all the paperwork. And then a bill of sale, and then we would have them fill out an application.”

Richard says that residents with expired registrations can be fined or ticketed if they are caught driving without updating it. Those individuals who did not register an off-road or snowmobile by the end of 2022, must also pay a penalty to the Recorder’s Office.
