The Adel Public Library is starting a group that will give teenagers the ability to have a say in what the library will offer.
Patron Services Manager Amy Puck says they are creating a teen advisory board for the library which will be designed to create leadership skills for kids in grades sixth through twelfth. She explains what this advisory board will try and accomplish.
“An opportunity to input their ideas and opinions on books the library should carry or programs that they would like to see. We also want to make sure that we let the schools know that attending the teen advisory board does count towards volunteer hours, which is a big deal for the (high school) seniors this year.”
The Adel Public Library teen advisory board will kick off from 4 to 5pm on January 12th. For those looking to be on the board, they can contact the library or show up the day of the first meeting.
