The Perry Crossroads Church had their grand opening for their Care Closet in early November and their planning on opening one more.

Chris Ruble is a member of the church and says that they will have a Care Closet from 9am to 4pm at the Crossroads Church on Saturday and Sunday. Ruble explains this closet will have free clothing for men, women and children along with kitchenware, small appliances, non-upholstered furniture and tools. She tells Raccoon Valley Raccoon why they thought creating something like this was necessary.

“Care Closet where everything is free would definitely help the community because things are so expensive today and it’s hard for families to make things meet their needs. They either have too much gas money or too much in groceries and then not enough for clothes and other things that they may need. So we got our heads together and decided to do a free Care Closet where everything is free.”

Ruble explains that they only accept new or slightly used items and they won’t take large appliances, electronics, stuffed animals and bedding items. Donations can be dropped off on Tuesdays from 8am until noon.
