The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District concluded their first semester which they look to continue into the new year.

Superintendent Greg Dufoe says they really focused on getting students to learn at a high level. He points out that improving literacy achievement has been a high priority.

“We have another aggressive goal and we’re working towards that goal all this year. And we’ll see how far, how close we get to that goal and if we achieve it in June of ‘23. But we’re doing the right work and we’re making significant progress on achievement gains, and that’s our mission.”

Dufoe was also really encouraged with the growth of the school district. He says their certified enrollment increased by 98 students and they are currently serving 2,216 across the district.

“I’m pleased that our student enrollment is up significantly this year and our projections call for our enrollment to continue to grow. It’s just exciting times for us so we’re just trying to envision where we will be in the next five to 10 years. So it’s really an exciting time to be a Tiger and I’m surrounded by a lot of great people.”

He says they had no significant capital projects completed in the semester but they’re currently going through a facility master planning process to figure out what their next series of projects will be.
