A Dallas Center-Grimes wrestler hit a milestone in his four year career this season.
Jacob Fistler is well on his way to a fantastic senior season with 102 team points and 16 wins with 12 falls but he achieved something special at the Al Garrison Memorial Duals winning his 100 match. Head Coach Cory Stratton says that reaching 100 wins is a remarkable accomplishment that usually takes all four years on varsity to hit that milestone. Sratton talks about the career Fistler has had thus far.
“Jacob’s kind of a kid that comes along once in a while and do a program right away. As a freshman. He was a state qualifier, had a lot of wins for us, and then he’s been consistently one of our top guys the last four years. But he realizes that he can’t just settle for what he did on his freshman year. So year to year, he always puts in a ton of time in the off season to continue to improve, to reach his ultimate goals, which is a state champ.”
Fistler will look to continue his winning ways when DCG touches the mat again at the boys scramble in the barn in Carlisle High School on January 5th.
