The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to drive sober this New Year’s Eve.
Sheriff Adam Infante says they will have additional deputies on the roads looking for impaired drivers. Infante tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the best way to stay safe this holiday is to stay home to consume alcohol.
“Another option is to line up a ride with a sober driver. Maybe your wife’s pregnant and maybe she can do the driving. Uber and Lyft, those are all available,(and) cabs if you’re in a bigger city. I generally advise people to stay home, celebrate with family. Maybe in your neighborhood where you can walk one house away or something like that is always better than driving. Even the people who are driving you, who are sober, are at risk of running into somebody who isn’t.”
Infante hopes everyone has a responsible and safe New Year holiday.
