The Adel Public Library started a program in October to get older folks together at the library and it continues to grow.
Patron Services Manager Amy Puck says that the 50’s Plus Senior Program gives elders a space to meet and become social along with networking opportunities. Puck points out that this group meets from 10am until 1pm the first and third Tuesday of each month. She describes the response they have been getting so far.
“All in all, the feedback has been incredibly positive as this was definitely a need for our community and it feels good that the library is being able to help our seniors meet this need and allow them to become more social.”
Puck says that they have been getting anywhere between 15 and 30 seniors every program. She notes that those wanting to participate but need transportation can contact the library. This is a free program with free coffee included.
