12:51am: An Officer took a stray cat to PAWS.

9:05am: An Officer provided a funeral escort.

12:49pm: An Officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of E. Vest St. in regard to an argument between family members. The Officer provided advice and calmed the situation.

Thursday, December 22nd

12:57am: An Officer assisted a motorist in the 500 block of N. Elm St.

9:15am: An Officer assisted a motorist at Lincoln Way and Locust St.

1:01pm: An Officer relayed a message to a Jefferson resident from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

5:03pm: An Officer assisted Greene County EMS in the 1000 block of W. Washington St.

5:21pm: An Officer responded to a single vehicle property damage collision in the 400 block of E. Wilcox Way. A 2020 Chrysler Pacifica, owned and operated by Kimberly West of Grand Junction, was backing out of a driveway and struck a mailbox. The vehicle received approximately $400.00 damage. The mailbox had minimal damage.

9:11pm: An Officer removed a bat from a residence in the 100 block of S. Maple St.

Friday, December 23rd

12:00am: An Officer assisted a motorist at Mulberry St. and Central Ave.

10:16am: A traffic stop in the 700 block of W. Lincoln Way resulted in Jose Aguilar Gutierrez of Jefferson receiving citations for “Driving With Obstructed View” and “No Valid Driver’s License”.

2:54pm: An Officer responded to a business in the 500 block of N. Elm St. in regard to a civil situation. The Officer assisted.

3:09pm: An Officer was advised of a dog running at large in the 100 block of E. Clark St. The Officer located the owner of the dog, returned it, and issued Alicia Hawkins, of Jefferson, a citation for “Animals Running at Large”.

3:31pm: An Officer responded to the 200 block of Edgewood Ave. in regard to a dog running at large. The Officer took the dog to PAWS.

4:02pm: An Officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of E. Vest St. in regard to an argument between family members. The Officer provided advice and calmed the situation.

4:24pm: An Officer took a Harassment complaint involving several juveniles. The Officer is investigating.

5:14pm: An Officer was advised of an open door at a business in the 100 block of W. Washington St. The Officer determined there was a mechanical problem with the door. An employee was advised.

6:01pm: An Officer performed a Welfare check in the 700 block of N. Cedar St.

7:41pm: An Officer assisted a motorist in the 200 block of E. Adams St.

9:17pm: An Officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of W. Harrison in regard to a juvenile who was creating a verbal altercation with her family. The Officer provided assistance and advice.

Saturday, December 24th

2:50am: An officer had a vehicle towed from North Mulberry Street, just south of 220th Street. The vehicle was abandoned in the traveled portion of the roadway.

7:08am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 200 American Ave. The building was found to be secure.

11:19am: Hy Vee reported locating a wallet at 106 West Washington Street. The officer contacted the subject and advised her where she could pick up her wallet.

1:06pm: Gretchen Rowedder reported a kitten found at 1210 Southfield Drive. The officer placed the kitten in the Animal Holding Facility.

1:49pm: Carly Rotert reported two Stray Dogs in the 500 Block of East Reed Street. The owner arrived at the Animal Holding Facility as the officer was getting ready to place the animals inside. The officer released the animals with a Citation to Gary Paul Sinkuler of Jefferson for, “Animal At Large.”

2:50pm: Ron Fortune requested a Welfare Check on a female in the 1000 Block of West Washington Street. The female was located and was fine.

4:44pm: During a Traffic Stop in the 100 Block of North Oak Street, an officer could smell marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. During a Consent Search, the officer located a jar containing a small amount of marijuana. The item was seized. Justin Steven Dick of Lake City was cited for, “No Valid Driver’s License, and Operation without Registration.” The officer also requested an Arrest Warrant for, “Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple.

9:15pm: Julie Allender reported a vehicle with its flashers on near 220 th

Sunday, December 25th

1:11pm: Jen Schiltz located a puppy in the 800 Block of West Harrison Street. The owner picked up the animal before the officer arrived.

2:40pm: An officer was called to ER for a reported Cat Bite, which had occurred at 204 South Walnut Street. The officer learned the owner has two cats and they became involved in a hissing match when the cat scratched her and bit her wrist. The officer gave the subject a time period to become compliant with city ordinances involving her cats, or face a citation.

3:17pm: An officer was requested to assist deputies with an arrest at 1109 Lincoln Street in Scranton. The S.O. is handling all charges.

6:22pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 106 West Washington Street. The business was found to be secure.

7:38pm: Two callers advised of hearing loud pops, like gunshots northeast of Lincoln Way and Elm Streets. The officer did not locate anything in the area.

Monday, December 26th

12:23am: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of West Clark Street resulted in Sean Coil of Scranton being cited for, “Fail to Carry Registration Card.”

6:50am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a possible overdose in the 500 Block of North Wilson Ave.

9:52am: An officer located a Stolen Vehicle parked near State and Grimmell Road. The vehicle was reported as Stolen out of Creston on 12/22/2022. The officer towed the vehicle to Impound and advised Creston authorities.

12:56pm: An officer stopped at 508 North Elm Street and witnessed subjects screaming in a vehicle parked there. The officer became involved with the subjects and learned a parent and a juvenile were arguing with each other. The officer calmed the situation and sent the family on their way.

2:11pm: A caller advised of a Barking Dog in the 1200 Block of Southfield Drive. The owner was contacted about the issue.

10:52pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical call in the 700 Block of Wild Rose Drive.

******** Officers issued (27) Citations for, “Parking – Snow Ordinance,” for the reporting time period.

Tuesday, December 27th

7:57am: An Officer was called to the 500 block of E. Lincoln Way in regard to an open door at a residence. The Officer determined everything was fine.

8:18am: An Officer assisted a motorist at Highway 30 and Elm St.

10:09am: An Officer was called to a residence in the 300 block of E. Vest St. in regard to a property dispute. The Officer provided advice.

10:21am: An Officer was called to the 100 block of Ram Dr. in regard to a theft. It was later determined that a theft had not occurred.

10:46am: An Officer was advised of a disabled vehicle on Highway 30. The Officer determined the vehicle was out of city limits and advised a Deputy.

11:57am: An Officer assisted Greene County EMS in the 100 block of E. Adams St.

12:33pm: An Officer assisted Greene County EMS in the 600 block of S. Chestnut St.

1:32pm: An Officer was called to the 300 block of E. Lincoln Way in regard to a theft. The Officer is investigating.

2:02pm: An Officer had a vehicle towed from the 100 block of S. Wilson Ave. due to snow removal operations.

2:30pm: The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office requested an Officer check a residence in Jefferson for two subjects with active arrest warrants. The Officer determined the subjects were not at the residence.

10:07pm: A traffic stop at Highway 30 and Grimmell Rd. resulted in McKensie Bess, of Carroll, being issued a citation for “Violation – Financial Liability Coverage”.
