The Dallas Center-Grimes boys basketball team is now on winter break and will have a few days to relax and celebrate with family until they start a very busy two month schedule.

The Mustangs got a big victory on Wednesday over Johnston 62 to 59 to improve to a record of (5-1). Head Coach Joel Rankin tells Raccoon Valley Sports that he feels like his team is making strides to get better.

“You know, anxious to just continue to get better, especially when you feel like we’ve made some improvement here. It’s really exciting to see, you know, we’re getting better. And defensively, you know, just going back to the basics. You know, sometimes I try to do too much. And sometimes it’s just the elementary stuff that we need to get better at. So now just just excited for the break and to see my family and then also excited then next week to to keep getting better. “

Rankin says he will gather his team after Christmas on December 27th to prepare for their next game at Norwalk on January 3rd.
