Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers athletics in 2022 was able to find a very special year in multiple sports, and this week, we break down the accomplishments of various programs.
The softball team was able to put together another dynamic year in 2022, as they finished with a 31-6 record, co-champions of the Raccoon River Conference, the regional champion in region 3, and able to qualify for the state tournament for the second consecutive year as well.
The Tigers were dominant throughout the majority of the season, achieving the number 1 rankings for multiple weeks in the season and able to find great success in their competition as well.
Multiple players were mentioned in the Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-State teams, with Olivia Tollari and Aliya Yanga on the first team after wonderful years.
Yanga was tremendous, finishing with a 15-4 record, throwing 173 innings, throwing 280 strikeouts to 65 walks, and and a final ERA of 1.05. Tollari was a strong leadoff hitter, with a .438 average and 49 hits, both team leads. She also was able to steal 26 bases, hit 12 doubles, and three home runs as well.
The Tigers return a large portion of their roster for 2023, as they will look for more great success.
