The Panora Fire Department and Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential fire at 6507 Panorama Drive last Friday.

Panora Fire Chief Matt Harmann tells Raccoon Valley Radio that when the fire department arrived on scene, they saw smoke coming from inside the home. He mentions that the residents made it out safely, and that no injuries were reported.

Harmann notes the fire started in the fireplace, which most likely malfunctioned and caused it to not operate properly. He adds there was fire damage to the fireplace, along with the wall and ceilings around it, and some smoke and water damage.
