The return to full in person Nativity Festival in Jefferson was a success.

Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity held the event for the first time all in person since the pandemic and organizers say about $2,600 was raised at the community event that was held at the First United Methodist Church on December 11th between the soup supper and free will offerings, along with the pie auction. Executive Director Ron Christensen says the proceeds from the fundraiser will be used for next year’s Helping Hands program, where volunteers make repairs to the exteriors of occupied homes.

Anyone who might have a home that would qualify for Helping Hands in Greene County or who would like to be a volunteer to help work on homes for next year, can contact Christensen at the main office in Boone at 515-432-1168.
