Greene County ISU Extension is offering a popular program towards the end of the month to help families take care of their young ones from time to time.
Babysitting Basics will be held at the Extension Office in Jefferson on December 28th from 9-3:30pm for kids in fifth through eighth grades with a $40 fee. Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway tells Raccoon Valley Radio participants will learn about the basics of babysitting, as well as how to perform CPR and other emergency situations. She adds, each participant will also receive a certificate of completion and this program is a great asset for the county.
“A lot of these kids are going to be going out into our community and they are going to get paid for these babysitting skills. With babysitting today, $40 is going to pay off in one or two babysitting trips. So it’s a great opportunity for the kids.”
