Coach Zach Beekman’s Greene County wrestlers were finally at home for the first time this season after being weathered out in their first two attempts to compete in the high school gym in Jefferson. The Rams had four dual meets and they came away with a 4-0 record on the evening and stand at 5-6 heading into the Winter break.

The Rams won 54-18 over Saydel (Des Moines), 48-21 against Nevada, 42-12 vs. CAM (Anita), and 45-12 against Van Meter. The evening was filled with forfeits, but the Rams won 16 of the 19 matches actually wrestled.

Rams going 4-0 on the night were Gavyn Winters at 106, Kale Petersen 132, McKinley Robbins 138, Brent Dennhardt 145, Jackson Turner 152, and Gavin Scheuermann 160. Marcus Ball at 220 went 3-1 and Crew Conner 120 was 2-2. Braeden Turner accepted a forfeit and was 1-0, as did Dakota Mobley.

Greene County comes back after the break with a Jan. 3 triangular at home in Jefferson vs. Woodward-Granger and Interstate 35 (Truro).
