A multiple vehicle crash Tuesday night in Guthrie County results in one injury.

According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, the incident happened at 7:27pm on West Front Street, west of Adair Street in Stuart. There was a 2004 Chrysler Sebring that was disabled on the south shoulder of West Front Street, while a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox was parked on the south shoulder of Front Street, facing west to assist the disabled Sebring. The crash report shows 44-year-old Shane Wells of Stuart was between the Sebring and Equinox, when a 1992 Dodge W250 that was traveling east on Front Street and driven by 74-year-old Jimmie Easley of Earlham struck the rear-end of the Sebring. The Sebring then hit Wells and the front end of the Equinox.

Wells suffered serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Stuart Police assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring new information as it becomes available.
