It was a good night for Dallas Center-Grimes hoops on Friday.

The Lady Mustangs got a chance to continue their winning streak when they took on Oskaloosa. Vanessa Bickford hit a big three pointer with just a few seconds left in the first quarter to go up 18 to 17. Lady Mustangs would out score the Indians, 17 to 11, in the second quarter and the score at the intermission was 35 to 28. The Indians only scored two points in the third quarter and a big run of 13 points from the Mustangs would stretch the lead out to 18. The Lady Mustangs would close out the game in the fourth and the final score was 64 to 42. They improve to (6-1) on the season and currently on a six game winning streak. Emma Miner had 21 points and Finley Fitzgerald added 11.

The DCG boys got down early against Oskaloosa 11 to 16 but the Mustangs would claw back with a 17 to 1 run and eventually cruise into halftime with a 33 to 19 lead. Oskaloosa would make it a game in the second half closing the gap to within five but it wasn’t enough, DCG escapes with a road conference victory 65 to 60. Mustangs would move to (4-1) on the season.
