Tomorrow will be the first airing of the Greene Spaces program on the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
Greene County High School English Teacher Kirsten Carman tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Greene Spaces is an elective English class that focuses on communication, writing and mass media. Carman points out that while the class has traditionally published news stories in the local newspaper and produced the annual yearbook, last year they started having the students record their stories that are then put on the air on KGRA 98.9FM.
Kaitlin Fields is one of those students and she talks about how she covers different stories at the high school, along with her favorite part of the class.
“I look after what recent events have happened within the school. So if there’s anything that’s coming up or has happened, I like to report on that. I love looking at all the pictures that we take on the camera. It’s nice to see that everyone is involved in the school in something and having a good time.”
The Greene Spaces program will be on KGRA 98.9FM tomorrow at 6:20am and 4:20pm. You can also listen to the program through the free KGRA mobile app with any smart device.
