
New information has been released by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office regarding a traffic-related incident Tuesday evening on Highway 30.
According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy, Greene County Ambulance and Grand Junction Fire and Rescue responded to a two vehicle crash at 6:59pm on Highway 30 near North 11th Street in Grand Junction. The report shows 35-year-old Sarah Schagt of Carroll was traveling west on the highway in a 2020 Ford Fusion. Schagt was rear ended by a 2005 Honda Civic, driven by 29-year-old Caleb Johnson of Jefferson.
The sheriff’s office reports that Schagt was taken by Greene County Ambulance to Greene County Medical Center with suspected minor injuries, while Johnson was uninjured. The Honda Civic sustained $3,000 of damage, while the Ford Fusion had $2,000 of damage.
Johnson was also arrested and charged with his second offense for an OWI, along with citations for following too close and an open container of alcohol. He was booked into the Greene County Jail.
