The Dallas Center-Grimes boy and girl basketball teams had a success weekend

The one loss Lady Mustangs took on the Lions from Des Moines Christian on Saturday. DCG got off to a very hot start with a 20 to 4 run which would set them up nicely at halftime up 35 to 14. They would eventually get out scored in the second half 21 to 19 but it was no match for the Lady Mustangs they would improve to (5-1) on the season with a victory of Des Moines Christian 54 to 36. Finley Fitzgerald led all scorers with 21 points and Emma Miner was right behind her adding 19 points. DCG shot 40 percent from the field and 30 percent from the arch.

The boys Mustang basketball team were hungry after after a tough conference loss to Newton when they took on Des Moines Christian on Saturday. It was a close one at half with DCG leading by five, 34 to 29. But Jonathan Howard got hot from three point land and Calix Cahill added a double double which propelled DCG to a 13 point win, 67 to 54

The next Mustang basketball games will be at Oskaloosa on December 16th.
