The Dallas Center-Grimes boy and girl basketball teams will be back on the court looking to continue their winning streaks.
The DCG Lady Mustangs will be striving for a four game winning streak when they play Newton at the Dallas Center-Grimes Meadows Gym at 6:15pm tonight. The Lady Mustangs are coming off a victory over Grinnell (59-46) and it was really a team effort with nine players getting on the stat but Emma Miner led the way with 15 points and seven rebounds and Vanessa Bickford gave her team opportunities to score the basketball with six assist. Now they will take on a talented (2-2) Newton Lady Cardinal team led by a senior Audrey Rausch shooting nearly 40 percent from the three point arch and averaging 14 points per game.
The DCG Boys will be looking to stay undefeated when they take Newton as well at the DCG Meadows Gym with tip at 7:45pm. The Mustangs are (2-0) and are coming off a decisive win over Grinnell (71-39). Now they will face a Newton Cardinal team searching for their first win, sitting at (0-2) on the season. The Cardinals have a group on seniors that make up 93 percent of their scoring led by averaging 12.5 points per game.
