The Perry Chamber of Commerce has their last event of the year and it hopes to get people excited about shopping locally.
The first ever “Peppermint Walk Shop, Dine And Be Merry,” starts today and will run throughout Saturday during the participating businesses hours. Chamber Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this event requires shoppers to pick up a passport at participating businesses and then make three purchases from any of the establishments on that card to be entered into a drawing to win a grand prize. She says this is a contest they copied from a town in northern Iowa.
“It’s really going to be casual. It’s just meant to remind people to get out shop, dine local, and then make those purchases local with a little incentive as well but each of those businesses will be contributing to a larger gift basket, which will be the incentive for people to get out and participate in the Peppermint Walk. So really all you have to do is pick up a card that’ll list all of the participating businesses and make a purchase at three of those businesses.”
The information for the participating businesses will be linked here. The event is open to the public and no ticket will be required to participate. For additional information contact the Chamber. – PerryChamber@PerryIA.org or (515)465-4601
