Perry fell to West Marshall Tuesday night 68-58 in a Heart of Iowa Conference clash in State Center.  The Bluejays had control of the game early, opening up a 17-6 first quarter lead.  West Marshall’s Joseph Tollefson connected on a three point basket in the closing seconds of the first quarter to cut the Perry lead to 17-9 at the end of one.  Tollefson continued his hot stroke in the second quarter, knocking in two more three point baskets , and the bench provided a spark reeling off 22 points on the night.

Perry’s Drake Levan tried to keep the Bluejays close in the second half, scoring a season high 21 points.  Perry had a tough time on the glass surrendering several second and third chance points in both the third and fourth quarters, while struggling to slow down the Trojan guard’s driving ability.  Perry cut it down to nine on two occasions in the fourth quarter but could not complete the comeback like they had in their previous two games.

Owen Myers finished with 12 points for Perry.

The Bluejays are 0-2 in the Heart of Iowa and will travel to defending champ Roland Story Friday night.
