The Dallas Center Grimes sits in a good spot just two games into the young season and their relying on one of their seniors early on.

Hudson Ehlert has been a bright spot scoring the ball from the perimeter after seeing minimal varsity minutes on the floor as a junior for Coach Joel Rankins team. Ehlert is averaging 15 points per games while shooting 61 percent from the field and 40 percent from the arch. Ehlert led a comeback and made the game winning shot against ADM, a game in which he finished with 18 points. Head Coach Rankin says his leadership will be valuable this year.

“He probably was good enough to play a lot more than he did last year. Just was was kind of behind some really, really talented seniors. And so he was just he’s a great kid and a really good leader for us. And he’s he’s going to have a really special year this year.”

Ehlert will try and add to his fantastic start to the season when they play Newton at home on Friday. Remember Raccoon Valley Radio.com and the KDLS-2 mobile will stream the game live.
