A variety of winter weather provides a level of danger and a local management agency wants people to be prepared.

Dallas County Emergency Management Agency Specialist Josh Heward says that a winter driving safety kit is essential for especially longer trips. He explains that jumper cables, flares, an ice scraper, cell phone charger, warm blanket, flashlight, sand and a small shovel are a few items to keep in this kit.

“These kits are super important. You never know what situation you might find yourself in, So being prepared can only help you and help save your life.”

Heward says they really push people to have these driving safety kits in their vehicles and he directa people to the ready.gov/winter-weather for any additional information.
