In their last meeting, the 10 Squared Women of Guthrie County made their latest donation to an organization that needed it.

On November 15th, two groups were nominated for the donation, and 10 Squared Women decided to make the donation to the Bagley Fire Department. Bagley Fire Chief Jeremy Cooper and Fire Captain Daniel Irving were presented with the $10,600 dollar donation, and afterwards an anonymous donor gifted another $15,000. Cooper tells Raccoon Valley Radio how important the donation is.

“It means so much to us. We’re a small town department. We strive off of donations. We operate off of roughly around $13,000 a year, as our annual budget that we bring in for taxation, to be able to operate and provide fire protection to our fire districts up there. And we essentially just got two years worth of budget in one donation, essentially. So it’s just absolutely amazing. Just absolutely amazing”

Cooper says that the donations will be used to help outfit the department’s firefighters, work on the fire trucks, and get ready for community events in the coming year.
