Next weekend the Stuart Lions Club will be hosting their Stuart Community Christmas Celebration.
A free-will donation soup lunch will start at 11am and go to 1pm. Soup choices include chili, vegetable, potato and broccoli cheese. Drinks and desserts will be provided in addition to the soup. Proceeds from the meal will go back to the Lions Club to fund Christmas events next year.
From 10am to 1pm is the annual Kids Shop Free program, where children can get gifts for their family. At noon Santa Claus will make an appearance, and from noon to 1pm there will be Santa Train Rides for the children. A tour of homes will start at 1pm and last until 5pm, where people will be able to see the decorations that residents have up in their yards and in their homes. A list of addresses that have volunteered for the tours will be provided.
For the second year, there will also be horse drawn carriage rides. The rides will start at 5pm and last until 8pm. Anyone interested in taking a ride will need to sign up for a time slot, which they can do starting at 11am. All events will take place at the Stuart First Congregational Church.
Additionally, there will be lemonade, popcorn, coffee, hot chocolate and pizza, furnished by The Stuart Scoop. There will also be drawings for Stuart Chamber Bucks, gift certificates and gifts from local businesses, along with three Christmas Wreaths decorated by Nyla Maas.
