Perry High School students will showcase their musical skills at their Winter Concert that is quickly approaching.

The Perry High School Winter Concert will take place at the Perry Performing Arts Center on Monday at 7pm. Vocal Music Director Jennifer Nelson says this concert will feature 100 students performing in band and choir. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio there has been a lot of work that’s gone into this concert and they are anxious to perform in front of a crowd.

“So the band has been preparing for this concert since marching band season ended in October, and the choir has been preparing since our fall concert on October 17th and about the same amount of time. And we’ve just been having a lot of rehearsals. The select choir rehearses three days a week in the morning, so they’ve been rehearsing a lot, preparing for this event.”

Nelson says the concerts will have many acts including a band and choir performing a combined piece along with having the select choir, bass clef choir and treble clef cloir performing other songs. She adds the select choir will perform a few Christmas pieces as well. The concert will last about an hour with a short intermission and admission is free.

The Perry Middle School choir’s only winter concert will take place on December 20th at the Performing Arts Center and it is also free.
