Around 30 people attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Jefferson to officially welcome the relocation of an established business.

Heritage Insurance was previously located along East Lincoln Way but decided to move to the east side of the square after renovations were made to the former AirTemp building. Heritage Insurance Vice President and Co-Owner Jeremy Greiner tells Raccoon Valley Radio there’s many reasons why they chose their new location.

“The main reason to getting back on the square here is having a better presence in the community, and also making a larger commitment to the community of Jefferson and Greene County, having more adequate space for the staff that it’s going to take to provide that commitment as well. With where we were at, it did it’s diligence, but we needed to up our staff and to show, ‘Hey, we’re here and we’re here for the long haul.’”

Greiner notes that Heritage Insurance wants to play more of a role in the community and is looking to be a part of how aggressive and progressive the City of Jefferson has been over the past decade. He also talks about the partnership Heritage Insurance had with the City that first took ownership of the building to begin the restoration process over five years ago.

“Working with the city was pretty simplistic. They made it pretty easy for us. We had a vision, we proposed the vision and they gave us the green light to move forward with it. Everyone that has been involved with the process from day one until today has been fantastic to work with, I couldn’t say anything greater or better than we haven’t already about everyone that’s committed to what we’ve done here today.”

Heritage Insurance has four locations including Jefferson, Scranton, Coon Rapids and Audubon.
