It’s December which means all month long one entity in Jefferson is providing opportunities for gift ideas for everyone.
The Friends of the Jefferson Library “December Book Sale: Give the Gift of Reading” goes throughout December and several items are available for purchase, including books, book bags, audio books and DVDs in both the children and adult departments of the library. Items are constantly being added each day, so the Friends encourage everyone to check frequently for updates.
Friend member Barb Labate tells Raccoon Valley Radio during their recently held fall book sale fundraiser, they raised close to $2,000 and the spring book sale made almost $1,500. She is hoping for lots more for this month-long fundraiser.
Everyone is also encouraged to donate good to excellent used books that are less than 20 years old by dropping them off in the donation bin in the main entrance of the library. Labate says if there are donations that are two or more boxes, contact the library to make arrangements to drop them off. Proceeds from this fundraiser goes back to the Friends for additional equipment and programming purchases for the library.
