Less than ideal weather conditions prompted an early dismissal from school in the Greene County School District on Tuesday and the cancellation of all activities. There was to have been a girl/boy basketball doubleheader on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com last night with the Rams in Panora vs. Panorama, but those games were called off. Next up on the Greene County schedule is the first Heart of Iowa Activities Conference action of the season with Greene County hosting Roland-Story (Story City) this Friday, Dec. 2 in the high school gym in Jefferson on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage starts at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.
Coach Zach Beekman’s Ram wrestlers were to have hosted Ogden, PCM (Monroe), and Van Meter, but that also was wiped out. Greene County now opens the season at the Cliff Keene Independence Invitational on Dec. 2 and 3 at Independence, IA high school.
Paton-Churdan basketball at Dunlap vs. Boyer Valley was also not held Tuesday.
