The senior class at Greene County High School has several athletes with plans to continue playing a sport on the college level. One of those is Brayden Roberts, a three-sport athlete in basketball, soccer, and baseball. He told Raccoon Valley Radio he’s chosen to play baseball next year at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs. He’s primarily been a catcher for the Rams, and he believes that will be his primary position with the Reivers.
A perennial baseball power, Iowa Western coaches told Roberts his catching fundamentals were good and they look forward to working with him. Baseball is very important to the Roberts family and Brayden talks about that. “It’s a big thing for my family. I’ve been around it all my life. My Dad also played baseball collegiately, which is impressive and I’m happy to continue that on. My Dad stayed in baseball and has worked for professional baseball teams for around 20 years.”
Roberts earned Heart of Iowa Activities Conference All-Conference honors after last season as well as other postseason recognition.
