Ogden visited Greene County last night in the high school gym in Jefferson. The girl/boy non-conference twin bill was the first game of the season for both Greene County teams and for the Ogden boys. The Bulldogs won the girls’ game 55-21 for their first win of the season in three games. The Rams were 38-33 boys’ winners.
The Rams trailed 9-2 before ripping off 11 straight points for a 13-9 lead in the boys’ game and the Rams led 18-15 at intermission. It was back and forth down the stretch until Greene County finally put the game into the win column for the first time in the last four tries vs. the Bulldogs. Jesse Miller was eight of 11 from the floor and scored half of the Rams’ 38 points, 14 of those in the second half including 10 in the fourth quarter. Greene County overcame 28 turnovers exactly double Ogden’s 14 TOs and other than Miller, the Rams shot just 25% from the floor.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the girls’ game and the visiting team led 24-10 at intermission, The margin kept widening until late in the game the 35-point continuous clock went into effect. Emma Hoyle led the Rams in scoring with nine points. Greene County had 42 turnovers in the 32 minute contest. Freshman Jordyn Crossman had 19 points for Ogden.
