Governor Kim Reynolds recently made an announcement with the appointment for the Dallas County attorney. 

Charles Sinnard was appointed as a district court judge. The Dallas County Attorney is from Urbandale and a graduate from the University of Iowa and got his law degree from Drake University Law School. He recently won re-election as county attorney this past November when he ran unopposed. 

Sinnard was appointed by the governor to be the district judge in Judicial Election District 5A. 

He will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of District Court Judge Martha Mertz. The position will serve Dallas, Guthrie, Jasper, Madison, Marion and Warren counties.
