The Dallas Center-Grimes boys basketball team will kick off the season tonight and the Lady Mustangs will be playing for their second win of the young season.

The DCG boys will be looking to put their 2o22 state championship in the past and start a new season with the same mission when they take on their rival Adel-Desoto Minburn Tigers tonight at 7:30pm. The Mustangs will have seven seniors this year with Josh Harestad, Drew Rankin, York Meggison, Mitchell Bridie, Jackson Dornsbach, Hudson Ehlert and Trey Hartman. Head Coach Joel Rankin talks about the ADM boys basketball team.

“They have a lot of really good athletes, a lot of returning experience back. They have the big guy in the middle. Benetti is definitely going to be a challenge. He’s an Iowa State football recruit, but he’s a good basketball player and they have some shooters on the wings and they look like they’re playing real well together. You know, defensively, they seemed very cohesive and definitely going to present some challenges for us offensively.”

The Lady Mustangs will actually touch the floor first matching up with ADM at 6pm. A stand out for the DCG has been Emma Miner averaging 14 points per game along with 5 rebounds per game while putting up 23 points in a win against North Polk. You can hear the game on Raccoon Valley Radio.com or on the free mobile app KDLS-2 pregame coverage will start at 5:30pm.
