An annual Casey event is going on this weekend.

Christmas in Casey Organizer Jessica Davis tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the event got its start in 2018, and has been something that the community has a lot of fun with.

“Just a lot going on in a small town. An opportunity for people to shop local and buy all the Christmas gifts that they’re looking for for the year.”

A vendor show will be taking place from 9am to 2pm this Saturday. Vendors will be set up in the Casey Community Building, and in the party room at Pioneer’s Pub and Grub, with a total of 17 vendors between the two buildings.

Local shops will also be open, with Pioneers Pub and Grub, Casey Creamery, Revel Salon and Boutique and Linda’s Hair Hut and Gifts helping to bring more enjoyment to the day. There will also be a free-will donation lunch hosted by the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center Senior Class from 11am to 1pm of chili or potato soup. All proceeds from the meal will help fund the senior class trip. The final event scheduled for the day is a visit from Santa Claus at noon.
